A Reflective 10,000-Step Journey: Affirmations and Gratitude
What a day it has been, dear readers! As we embarked on a 10,000-step journey today with my lovely daughter, the sun finally graced us with its presence after weeks of gloomy rain. The air was crisp, and the beginning of fall painted the world in warm, earthy tones.
Our adventure had two destinations in mind – Playa bowls for some smoothie greatness and a new salad place my daughter was eager for us to try. Although I was caught up in the moment and forgot to snap a picture of the salad place, that's alright – some things are meant to be cherished without needing to share every detail.
I adore sharing our walking journey with all of you whom visit my blog. It's a chance for us to connect, to reflect, and to find moments of introspection together. Along the way, we paused at Urban Outfitters, where I couldn't resist capturing images of items that caught my eye. However, I've been practicing self-discipline, especially when it comes to clothes shopping. My closet is brimming with unworn treasures, a testament to treating myself, yet now I've chosen to be mindful.
I believe in being kind to ourselves, but lately, my mind has been in full discipline mode. The passing of our beloved dog, Baby, had a profound impact on my perspective. There's more I want to share about her passing – something I wrote during that challenging time. But for now, let's return to our current 10,000-step journey.
As we strolled along, it was heartwarming to see many homes adorned with Halloween decorations. The creativity that people pour into decorating their homes never ceases to amaze me. Along our path, we noticed a curious sight – a significant number of dead lantern-flies strewn across the ground. It was evident that someone had taken it upon themselves to mercilessly stomp them out.
My heart ached at the sight. You see, I've never sought to harm these creatures; I merely wished to be left in peace by them. These lantern-flies appeared to have met a cruel end, reminding me of the callousness that can reside within some hearts.
As we walked, my mind wandered through countless thoughts and ideas. You see, walking is my meditation, a practice that invites profound reflection. While my daughter and I often engage in spirited conversation during our 10,000-step journeys, walking itself is a meditation, and it leads us to moments of introspection.
Our conversations stimulate each other's minds, and I cherish thee connection we share. I am filled with gratitude for these moments with my beautiful daughter, and I am profoundly thankful.
September was emotionally draining due to the TRAGIC loss of our beloved dog, Baby. Our hearts still ache, but amidst thee mourning, there is a glimmer of light at thee end of every tunnel, like a rainbow connecting us eternally.
As we take these steps together, let us affirm our connection and the lessons we learn. Here are some affirmations to guide us:
1. "I am grateful for the beauty of our journey."
2. "I embrace mindful spending & cherish ALL I have."
3. "I choose kindness & compassion in my actions."
4. "I find peace in the midst of challenges."
5. "I honor thee memory of our beloved dog Baby."
I'm grateful to share this journey with my daughter and to have platforms like this where I can connect with all of you. So, my friends, will you be joining us on our 10,000-step journey next time? Let us know where you're from and how many steps you're willing to commit to. From your neck of the woods to ours, let's support one another in our journeys. 🌟🚶♀️💕 #10KStepsJourney #Reflections #Gratitude
