I am always open to receiving intuitive messages from the divine, and today was no different. While driving, I stopped at a red light and happened to glance to my left. There, I saw a hair salon called “Northern Lights,” which instantly took me back to many moons ago when I met a special person for the first time at a location with thee same name. It felt like more than a coincidence. Nearby, I noticed a flyer & while I didn’t catch all the details, one name stood out: St. Gerard. Interestingly enough, the name of this saint sounded strikingly similar to the name of the person from that memory & I immediately felt that St. Gerard had a message for me.

I breathed in deeply, allowing this intuitive nudge to guide me & I couldn’t wait to learn more about St. Gerard. After some research, I found that his story and spiritual lessons carried profound wisdom, which couldn’t have come to me at a better time. Here is what I discovered about

St. Gerard’s favorite slogan was “God will provide.” He had unwavering faith that God would always care for him and those around him. He lived with the belief that placing his life fully in God’s hands would lead him to his greatest good.

St. Gerard’s life was a reflection of joyful obedience to God’s will. He believed that every day should be lived in alignment with divine purpose & in doing so, he radiated joy and contentment.

Living a Life for God:

He lived devoutly in God’s presence and showed that even in modern times, one can live for God and still make a significant impact in the world. His devotion was woven into his everyday actions, proving that spiritual living and community service go hand in hand.

Encouraging Dialogue:

St. Gerard believed in the power of open, respectful dialogue. Even when others had different views or beliefs, he encouraged learning from one another’s insights, allowing for peaceful coexistence and greater understanding.

As I take in this knowledge, I can’t help but smile. It reminds me of the divine spark within each of us, ever-present and always willing to guide us if we remain open. St. Gerard’s message couldn’t have arrived at a more perfect moment for me, as I am in a season of closing one chapter and beginning anew. It is a reminder to let go of fear, to trust the path ahead & to embrace the unknown, knowing that everything is unfolding in divine order.

Sometimes, in moments of doubt or uncertainty, we forget that all we need to do is ask. Ask for guidance, pray for peace & trust that the answers will come. Today, I’ve received my answer: to trust that I am being guided & that things are working out for my highest good, even if I can’t see the entire picture just yet.

This is a message I believe we all need to hear, no matter what our faith, beliefs, or personal affiliations may be. The divine always finds ways to reach us, whether through a name, a sign, a memory, or a quiet whisper in our hearts.

Reflections of a Journey: Then and Now

 

The woman in this photo was in her mid-20s, not yet 30. Now, in my 40s, I look back at her & see a journey of profound transformation. Yes, she was me – but she wasn’t ALL of me (& all of me is an infinite discovery - I see - but she didn’t know that yet  ) She was a mere shell, frozen in time by the illusion of fear, caged by unresolved trauma, hiding behind a mask, playing pretend for the world, keeping up appearances with thee Joneses. (I’ve never seen that show btw- if it was even a show 🤷🏽‍♀️) anyways… What you couldn’t see in her eyes was the torment she buried, the chains of silence she wore. She was conscious of everything around her but completely invisible to herself, a soul lost in thee haze of its own unresolved pain.

Back then, I thought that hiding the truth would somehow protect me, that if I revealed what was really happening, the fragile facade I’d built would crumble. Little did I know, the real disability was living a life disconnected from my own essence. Because the unseen is often the most important work to be done. Excavating those shadows and bringing them to light is the only way to find the balance between what is hidden and what is seen.

The woman I am now would tell her, “Hey you… wake the fuck up. This life, this change you desire? It’s yours to create. Your time is always now.”

This journey has transformed me in ways only I could do for myself. And while the path was far from easy, every step led me to the freedom of standing in my truth, no longer shackled by fear, no longer hiding behind illusion.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never tried to be anything I’m not. Yet, I’ve had moments where I held my tongue, silenced my truth & stayed quiet to keep this false sense of peace. I’ve also had moments where I spoke my truth, burned down a house & spit fire with my tongue. And still 😆 no matter whom I’ve been at any point in time—I’ve always been me, no matter how others choose to perceive it. Funny thing is, even when you don’t stir thee pot, you still end up painted as the ‘bad guy.’ Growing up I have been so outspoken - I have  been on every side of the MooD(n) spectrum & one thing I’ve learned is that no matter what you do, someone will always have something to say. Like for real for real 😳 

But you know what? That’s where thee real power exists. It’s not about silencing yourself to AVOID conflict. It’s about standing firm in your ABSOLUTE truth, even if it shakes thee entire room & people talk their crapola.  Peace doesn’t come from hiding whom you are! it comes from embracing every single part of yourself, regardless of how others perceive it.
