Love’s Torment

He loves me and says we will always be besties,

Yet I desire more, is that fair to confess?

I want him to crave me, to feel the same,

But here I sit, lost in this emotional game.

His actions are those of a lover, true,

Yet he won’t commit, won’t see it through.

He’s trapped by fears of things going wrong,

Worried complications will prove too strong.

He won’t ruin our bond, keeps holding back,

But his inaction is the painful crack.

Doing it together yet apart,

Causing this break within my heart.

To depart from stagnation, for liberation’s sake,

Quantum deliberation, decisions to make.

Where do I stand in his journey, his path?

Can our future withstand this aftermath?

They say if you love, set it free,

If it returns, it’s meant to be.

But the madness of love in between divine time,

Is a torment that makes this heart climb.

Love feels like torment, unrequited at best,

One ready, the other not, a test.

To find balance in time, to emerge soul fine,

To stay whole, regardless of love’s line.

Even if love doesn’t win in the end,

I still hope to keep my dear best friend.

With wisdom, I understand the trials of true love,

The awakenings we must evolve through, above.

Though our future’s unclear, my wish remains,

For him to grab me, dispel my pains.

To pull me close, kiss me deep,

Reveal his love, the secrets he keeps.

In me, his forever mate he’ll find,

Ready now, no more confined.

These are my dreams, my heart’s desire,

Yearning in this moment, fueling our fire.

As we grow to our next phase,

Turning pages, knowing our place,

This love will guide us, come what may,

For in my heart, he’ll always stay.
