Eats You Alive

Right now it just happened 

I almost held back my pain 

I almost shut down my tears 

I almost ignored the feeling within me asking me to acknowledge it 

& so I did 

In all my tears and with all my pain 

I removed my own mask 

& confronted the feeling confronting the face being held accountable 

for myself 

& the work needed by me to heal the parts of myself 

living this love through hell
