Those that may not know what your ascendant sign is —- there are many free birth charts you can go to so you may acquire your information. At this time In my life I am both equally drawn to both Vedic and western astrology — these two are different from one another - but these versions of astrology are  one of many aspects to the study of astrology. Vedic and western both calculate a persons birth  differently from one another. That is why in Western Astrology, my Sun sign is considered Sagittarius. But in Vedic, I am labeled a Scorpio. I understand these realms so much better now. Excited I always am to learn more. 

So Know that most likely your planets and the signs that you have special for you that fall under as the representation of those planets will be different from one another in vedic and western. Sometimes Vedic and Western agree. Like for instance, my Venus sign is Capricorn for both Western and Vedic. So there was no going around that for me. But as for everything else it’s different and yet for me BOTH are ACCURATE / making them pretty righteous in my book. 

Just as there are different methods to all things - and many variations to all things - astrology is no different.  Not to worry, I study other sciences and psychology too. I’m a well rounded weird kind of folk.  So note that  One version of astrology does not debunk the other - so keep your arguments to yourself. 

Most people (out of habit / learnt behavior) limit themselves by feeling they must side with one particular over the other - and usually put this unnecessary pressure on themselves and others feeling as though they must choose. 

I know behavior like this  is partly due to their own limitations in thought due to their own conditioning habits that have assisted them in  creating  many forms of boundaries and limitations. Stunted growth of a society that is coming out of the woodworks (breaking news) 

Yes it’s true and still that’s neither here nor there. 

Do what you want and learn what interest you. I think it’s all fascinating and quantum cool. I’ve been studying astrology all of my life. It’s not my bible and yet it is extremely fun and useful. 

Your Ascendant sign also known as your rising sign is the zodiacal sign that was ascending on the eastern horizon at the moment you were born. 

Being “born” is rather subjective .. and also symbolic for us all in varying waves. 

So now that we know that - what does the ascendent sign mean / represent in our personal birth charts?  The rising also known as the Ascendant sign represents the way others SEE you - your overall first impression or general impression left on people.  Your rising / ascendant also will highlight how you react to things on an external level. 

But remember your rising also is influenced by your sun and moon and so many of the other planets. That is why your chart is specifically so special.
