Letting go
Abandoning Hope
With the Eight of cups we are being asked to abandon what is gentler and to face our fears of the unknown. Eight is the # of death & rebirth. The Eight of cups suggests leaving behind an emotional situation that has outlived its usefulness. There is an opportunity to start something NEW, as long as the process of letting go is unconditional. That is also accompanied with forgiveness. Here you see a handsome man turning his back on eight standing cups, knowing that it is time to move on. The moon is depicted in both its full and waning quarters, signifying that something has come to an end. We may have given our all to an emotional situation, only to discover that it has not lived up to our hopes. Our expectations are dashed and we have no choice but to move on. The sense of disillusionment at the end of a relationship can be extremely painful, especially if we have invested all of our aspirations in it. We are forced to recognize that something is not working and that we must leave it behind, in the hope that we will find something more meaningful. This card implies a sense of resignation, as well as ACCEPTANCE that we NOW need to begin a free NEW chapter. No matter how hard it is to face up to our circumstances, the CHOICE to end something is nevertheless voluntary. We have ceased to GROW and the only answer to this feeling of stasis is to walk away.

The end of one situation and the BEGINNING of something NEW is the message of this card. An emotional situation has outlived its purpose and you have no alternative but to say GOODBYE.
The disappointment may be harsh to bear; you may be feeling bereft and emotionally insecure & in need of time to HEAL.
Take your time out to HEAL...
It is important to take care of yourself now and pay attention to ALL of your feelings. Honor your emotions and your heart.
Ultimately, however, the CHANGES will PROVE BENEFICIAL, even though it may not feel like that at this moment as you make changes & necessary adjustments in your life welcoming this Change.
There is beauty in pain ❤️
