The "Powerful One", "Lady of Pestilence" and "Goddess of Vengeance" "Avenger of Wrongs" and the "Scarlet Lady"

The role of Sekhmet is often described as being the Powerful sun goddess of war and protector of the Pharaohs.

Sekhmet was a member of the Memphis Triad of gods & was the consort of the God Ptah.

Triad - A group of 3 gods that make up one family unit...

Goddess Sekhmet is often Depicted with the head of a lioness

(( & if you remember from one of my previous post I spoke of her Gorgeous sister...

who was often depicted with the head of a cat & yet still a lioness Sun Goddess too)...

Once upon An Enchanted Moon Ago...

In a land somewhere not so far away...

In Ancient Lands..

There lived a Beautiful Goddess named Sekhmet....

Beautiful as she may be seen, she was as deadly as a Cobra & revered as the Almighty "Powerful One"...

A most POWERFUL & mighty protector of ALL the Pharaohs and the armies of Egypt, she was simply a bad ass!!! She was the complete opposite of her sister in regards to how they went about in their business affairs. Let's just say PEACE is NOT was Sekhmet breathed...

No way! She was definitely Queen of WAR!

She was known for fighting & WAR & was never known to back down.

Sekhmet, a most beautiful & fierce warrior goddess of divine retribution, vengeance, destruction and conquest.

She would rip your head off...

The daughters of RA were no one to mess with...

Her sun disk crown is depicted with the <> rearing cobra that symbolizes her absolute POWER and AUTHORITY of the gods and their Egyptian monarchy.

She was a warrior goddess manifestation of the sun, causing an inferno of flames to devour the enemies of Egypt.

As a lioness she is represented as the fiercest hunter known to the ancient Egyptians at that time.

With her many associations she can be construed as being a divine arbiter of the Goddess Ma'at ((Justice & Order)) in the judgment hall of Osiris, associating her with the Wedjat ((Eye of Ra)) and also connecting her with Goddess Tefnut ((goddess of Rain, Air, Moisture, Weather, Dew, Lions, fertility & water.))
