The Hierophant also known as the Pope often appears in papal robes seated between two pillars, which represent his ability to balance opposing forces. Where the Emperor signifies the Worldly masculine, the Hierophant stands for spiritual masculine. He is associated with the number 5 (FIVE) which indicates spiritual power, inner wisdom, and mental inspiration, as well as the capacity to synthesize information. He offers GUIDANCE on spiritual matters & represents the need to find a spiritual meaning to our lives.
The Hierophant represents the spiritual guide within each of us that links our worldly persona with our HIGHER SPIRITUAL NATURE. in this way he helps us to establish a DIALOGUE between our CONSCIOUS MIND & the part of us that seeks to COMMUNICATE with SOURCE.
In the past the old word for Priest was pontifex, meaning "maker of bridges." His role was to Create a link between people and the divine. The Hierophant reflect our INNER DESIRE to give meaning to things and to raise our consciousness so that we no longer feel divided within ourselves. The longing to experience this higher dimension of life is what Carl Jung called "the religious function." It describes the INTUITIVE FEELING that there is MORE TO LIFE than the simple and mundane.
The Hierophant is the DRIVING FORCE behind the spiritual beliefs of PHILOSPOHICAL values that each of us forms. Sooner or later, life requires us to put these to rest and see if they are able to sustain us. Ultimately, the Hierophant symbolizes our INNATE DESIRE to achieve a balance between our WORLDLY & SPIRITUAL impulses so that WE BECOME WHOLE.

On the other hand, YOU may embark on a course study of a philosophical or religious nature in order to ACQUIRE A DEEPER KNOWLEDGE OF YOURSELF.
Becoming more SPIRITUALLY AWARE will enable you to progress further while at the same time affording you GREATER PEACE OF MIND
