Illuminating Review: My Experience with the Illum LED Photon Therapy Mask

Let's dive into something pretty intriguing today – it's an EMS Facial Mask, all the way from London. My daughter picked it up on sale, and it's got some pretty cool tech behind it. We're talking LED Mask Face Photon LED Light Therapy for your skin. You can check it out at illum.

Alright, so this mask – it's got a straightforward on/off switch, but you need to hold it down to get it working. The built-in glasses kind of remind me of 3D glasses, giving off a slightly trippy effect. But, as someone whom naturally perceives life through a multi-dimensional lens, I find it quite natural as it further enhances my everyday experience. If you're a bit sensitive to 3D effects, though, it's really quite subtle, & you always have the option to close your eyes. The mask is silicon-based, featuring a breathing hole & comes with two adjustable straps for comfort.

This EMS beauty, as per thee manual, offers two LED color options: three-color and seven-color, each equipped with an EMS eye beauty function. There's an auto shut-off after 15 minutes, so no worries about timing. Low power? The mask signals it by flashing 5 times before actually shutting down. And when you're charging it, a red light stays on, switching off once it's fully charged. That’s pretty cool if you ask me. 

I am genuinely excited about what this product promises & I'll be sure to keep you updated on any noticeable effects. Kindly give me a month or so & I will have more insights to share.

But as for right now, I have got to be honest about a significant drawback that truly annoys me especially since it got me sniffing right now.  Thee heaviness of the fit. It’s not so much the entire mask itself, it’s more just the Nose area. The pressure it exerts on my nose is quite disturbing & very uncomfortable & it did bother my sinuses hence why I am sniffing right now. Even my daughter agreed on thee discomfort. It’s not like it doesn’t fit us, it fits us both fine, it’s just the nose area it’s as if someone wants our nose to be crushed. I don’t think it should feel like that so maybe their next model will take this review into consideration because we can’t be the only ones complaining about it. Beauty might sometimes mean a little discomfort, but this was a bit much. I ended up holding thee mask slightly off my face with both of my hands, which isn't exactly ideal. It’s actually really annoying. I did do it though, hold it for the entirety of it being on my face. So you could imagine how time felt so long in doing that. 

I want to like the entire thing but this was my initial experience with it. Despite the fit issue, the mask has its cool points. Next time around, I'm going to try adjusting it differently to avoid the pressure & see if I don’t need to use my hands. But in the meantime I am left here currently blowing my nose.
