The moon’s energy has a powerful influence on us, so when it is at its fullest its energy is at its strongest. The next full moon will be a supermoon so the energy we will receive from it will be at a far higher level than normal.
On August 29th, 2015 the full moon will be illuminated 99 percent, so from the Earth it will seem to be at its brightest.
A supermoon happens when the moon’s orbit is closest to the earth. When the sun, Earth and moon are aligned they create a syzygy, which is a vortex of energy. A syzygy is when three celestial bodies configure in a straight line.
Supermoons are also known as Perigree Moons, which means “closest point to earth.”
The moon will appear much lower than usual in the sky and during a supermoon it is estimated that it is approximately 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than when the moon is at its farthest point.
Throughout a full moon it is essential to remain grounded. Full moons can feel like an emotional rollercoaster, therefore it is essential that we stand firm and do not allow ourselves to ebb-and-flow in time with the tides.
During a full moon we can often feel spellbound and wander around in a haze. Rather than allowing ourselves to be carried along, we really have to start taking responsibility for where we are and not allow nature to send our lives into a whirlwind every time a full moon arrives.
This supermoon can teach us some of the most difficult things to learn of all:
Acceptance, allowance and most of all, unconditional-love. Firstly, for ourselves, and then extending to those around us.
