The Cobra ~ Bhujangasana ~ this Asana ( yoga pose ) increases bodily heat, destroys diseases, and by the practice of this posture the Serpent Goddess (Kundalini) awakens. The major benefit of this backward bending movement as its effects are to arch the spine back gently, promoting flexibility of the lower back in particular. The gentle pressure that is created while in this pose also has a beneficial massaging effect on the internal organs.
